This group of musicians impressed at their audition because of their PREPARATION, LEARNING SPEED, and SOUND QUALITY.

All-State results

I am extremely proud of the thirty-one Concert Choir members who chose to prepare for All-State auditions Sept. 18.
Unfortunately, only 5 quartets of singers may represent BVHS at All-State Nov. 1-2.
The judging was thorough and fair.  The results can be found on the link at the right.
These 20 singers can pick up the remainder of their music Friday, and begin to practice.

Region 2 Large Group Contest

Region 2 Large Group Contest

Brandon Valley High School will again host this year's Region 2 Large Group Choral and Band Contests Wednesday, April 17.  Bands from BV, Sioux Falls, O'Gorman, and Brookings will perform in the BV PAC, while the Choral Contest will be held at Brandon Lutheran Church.

The Choral Contest will feature over twenty choirs performing from 8 AM until a little after 4:30.
Each choir has a 20-minute window to perform for 3 adjudicators, and also receive a brief clinic from one of the judges.

Both contests are admission-free, and open to the public!  Please, if you can, come and listen to the choirs sing!

Chamber Choir  8:20            Concert Choir 3:25              Lynx Choir   4:00

Participation in this contest is a required portion of a choir member's grade.  This event has been on the calendar since last spring, and though we would prefer performance times which do not interfere with after-school obligations, we have known all year that some time beyond 3:20 may be necessary.

Singers will need their concert blacks (boys- dress shoes, socks, dress pants; girls- flat or low-heel solid black closed-toe shoes) IN SCHOOL THAT DAY, along with their assigned choir robes.

Chamber Choir will begin their day with a 7:30 rehearsal at the church, and then drive themselves to school following their performance.

ALL Lynx Choir and Concert Choir members will be excused from period 8, and then bused to the church.

The first available buses will start shuttling Concert Choir singers back to BVHS at 4:00.  Lynx Choir will return when their performance time ends at 4:20.

Students will be responsible for getting their robe before busing to the church, and for hanging their robe in the robe closet following the contest.
